Since graduating from Brunel University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy Dr Jodielin Ofori has gone on to pursue further interests in the area of musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation achieving a PhD in Health Science at Plymouth University.

Researching the effects of physiotherapy interventions for the management of stiffness and spasticity in people with multiple sclerosis; Jodielin has presented her research at both national and international conferences and has achieved awards for her work.

Over the past year Jodielin has further developed a wide breath of knowledge in the area of assessing and treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions while working in Essex, Suffolk and London. Jodielin attends regular courses in order to keep abreast of current assessment procedures and treatment interventions with the most recent course being acupuncture the assessment and management of the hip and groin and spinal assessment and rehabilitation.
Dr Ofori’s work as a specialist MSK physiotherapist in private practice includes the assessment of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions throughout the body and treatment with acupuncture, manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription and electrotherapy. She also specialises in pre/post-operative treatment management of complex orthopaedic conditions.

Dr Ofori has also worked with a variety of sports teams including: Waltham Abbey FC, Potters Bar FC, Tavistock FC, Brunel Basketball Club, Running clubs in Essex and elite athletes. Dr Jodielin Ofori is an avid sportswoman and participates in half-marathon, cross-country and was an Olympic hopeful for Team GB in basketball.

Dr Ofori’s interests lie in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, spinal and peripheral conditions, understanding human behaviour and how this influences rehabilitation. These activities and her own experience of being injured gives her valuable insight into what is required from a treatment and injury prevention perspective in order to aid return to work/sport and restore day to day function.
